It's finally time to get out of the house and head outside! I love this time of year. It's also the perfect time of year to shoot photography outside! I love shooting on location. This type of photography creates a natural look to the photos in both the lighting and backdrop.

I recently took a mini famcation (stayed with a family member that lives someplace awesome) in Holland Michigan where my sister in law lives. We only stayed one night but we were able to visit Windmill Island, downtown Holland and Tunnel Park. All of these locations provided a lovely backdrop for candid photographs.

Last year a large portion of my husband's family took a weekend and travelled to Petoskey, Michigan. We camped right on the lake and had a very wonderful time away from home. Not only did I get some great nature shots of #pureMichigan but I was able to collect an assortment of family photos that I later put into a beautiful photo album.

Together we will discuss your likes and your family's preferences. We walk away from faux backdrops and over-used props and actually go to a perfect location that will create the imagery you love. If you love water there are plenty of locations to create this. Like the woods? We have those too. Prefer a more romantic look? The Lansing area has gorgeous gardens that create the secluded, romantic getaway. Are you worried your kids will get bored? We can pick a location that's fun for them, maybe a park or the river trail. Then you can make it a family event. The options are truly endless!
